Creation Care

Whitley Bay Baptist Church is a church committed to creation care. We believe that the work of Jesus is good news for all creation and that as God’s representatives we are called to care for the earth, love our neighbours and work for justice. Caring for creation is an integral part of this calling.

Our Creation Care Group supports us in our effort to reduce our own damaging impacts on the environment and helps us to raise awareness of the importance of creation care.

Parish Nursing

Parish Nursing seeks to improve the lives of people in our church and the local community through whole person health care. Our Parish Nurse Team runs a Chair Based Exercise Group every Thursday morning.

Our team works alongside our Pastoral Care Team as we seek to support and care for one another. If you have a particular need you think we might be able to help with then please contact the Church Office who will put you in touch with a member of the team.

The chair based exercise group runs from 10.45 to 12 noon each Thursday, the sessions are fully accessible and free. There is also an opportunity for those attending the group to have blood pressure, height, weight and BMI checks and obtain health advice and information.

Parish Nursing is affiliated to Parish Nursing Ministries UK.

The Light

The Light is a group for adults with learning disabilities to learn more about Jesus and how he loves us. Activities include drama, songs, prayer, craft, bible stories chat and refreshments!

The Light meets at 2 – 4pm on the third Saturday of each month. Friends, family and carers are encouraged to join us too.

Take 5 and Chat Drop In

Whitley Bay Baptist Church is pleased to host a Take 5 and Chat Cafe drop-in for parents and carers of children (of any age) who had additional needs.

The cafe drop in is a place to come and feel less isolated, where you can surround yourself with people who get it. The drop-in runs from 13.30 to 15.00 every other Wednesday afternoons. To find out when the next one is and for more information you can visit the Take 5 and Chat website.

Small Groups

Small Groups are a great way of getting involved in the Whitely Bay Baptist Church community. There are lots of different groups meeting throughout the week for prayer, bible study and mutual support.

Crispian oversees the groups and would love to have a chat with you about finding a group that would suit you. If you’d like to find out more or are interested in joining a small group please get in touch.

Prayer

Prayer is how we communicate with God and therefore an important part of the life of Whitley Bay Baptist Church. Listening and speaking to God in prayer underpins everything we do.

Prayer is a regular part of our worship services and activities and we have a dedicated team available to pray with people. We also meet online each month specifically to pray together.

If you’d like to find out more about prayer, or if there is something you would like us to pray for, please get in touch.
